"Great car. Lots of value for the price. The 4 cylinder turbo engine is really amazing. Same engine as an Audi A5 for half the price. Really a fun car to drive. I brought a new door for my house and it fit in this car with the seats down. Lots of usable space.Negative- the front wheel drive and the brakes are a little spongy. The performance package has larger breaks .I wish the four wheel version was a little cheaper in the states"

"I haven't had my car in nearly 6 weeks as I was in a car accident with it, but from what I remember of it :), it's a great car. Getting the SD card to work for playing MP3's required searching a lot online and a bunch of trial and error. I also don't like the fact that the VW USB cable (I bought that after buying the car since I don't have an iPod) for using an MP3 player doesn't actually power the unit, so it's an annoyance and can't just keep the MP3 player in the car all the time. I don't like that you can't fully turn off traction and stability control, as sometimes it's actually easier to drive in the snow with it off - at least it was in my MK4 Jeffa GLI when the system was disconnected. The brakes work very well, the 6 speed manual feels fantastic, the car handles so much better than my past Volkswagens, the engine is awesome (especially with an APR tune), the interior ergonomics are superior to any past VW Golf/GTI/Jetta, the lighting package is amazing - don't get a GTI without it. VW really did their homework on this car. I really wanted a Golf R, but paying $40k for a Golf is crazy."

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
