Question: what is the vtm-4 do and the features

can you use on a rainy day or mud or slippery roads

Use only at very low speed. As I understand, vtm-4 locks all four wheels as drive wheels similar to locking 4 wheel drive on clutch drive-manual shift off road vehicles. Use only when traction is very poor. Normally your AWD system is sufficient for slippery conditions. The vtm-4 will automatically disengage above about 15 mph.
