Question: To buy or not to buy?

I am looking at a Walter P. Chrysler Limited Edition 2005 Chrysler Sebring Convertible which has 72,000 miles, 6 cylinder engine and auto transmission. I have visited Consumer Reports.com and Edmunds.com owners reviews and still don't know so I thought I would get some opinions from real people who may currently own one or have worked on them. How do these cars hold up? Will it last 200,000 miles? I currently have a '93 Bonneville with 247,000 miles and love it but she must be put out to pasture so to speak. I bought her with 69,000 miles in '96. I would like a convertible, is this a good car? Any input would be helpful, thanks. panda7691

Hi Kim. I bought my 2005 Chrysler Convertible in 2007. It had 20,000 miles on it then; 69,000 now. Maintainence-wise it has been a gem. My only problem was a couple of bad catalytic oonverters. They were covered by the warrenty and I have not had a problem with the current on since (three years. We had to diconnect the horn because of a short that made the horn honk randomly. It would have cost nearly $800 to replace the horn (and air bag). The CD player will play only about half of my CDs. I have two CD collection: those that I can play in the car and those that I cannot, I play on my Boze DC player in my office. When my daughter (age 19) finishes school and gets a job, I will give my Sebring to her and buy a Chrysler 200 convertible. I will be currious to see how long how long the Sebring hold up. It has been very good to me. Take care.--Ralph W.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
