Question: starting issue

When I try to start my Olds, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When it does not, all the dash board lights come on, but no sound. I never know when it will start. I have replaced the started, the battery is good, and we recently put in a new ignition switch. I even had a new computer chip key made for it. Nothing seems to make a difference. Has anyone else ever had this problem and what should I do about it? Thanks

I had it all the time. Through trial and error, I realized it was my key. it was dirty! I just wipe my key off before I start and I have not had the problem to this day. Hopes this helps. Plus when you turn it and the lights come on....in my 93 reg elite, it actually says key dirty. and when you keep trying, the computer wont let you start it again for two minutes b/c of security issues.
