Question: security light comes on

this car started flashing it's security light and I would wait ten min. until it went out with the key in the on position. Then it would run fine (for awhile). Now the light goes on and soon as I turn it off and leave it a few hours I have to do this again! Is there a permanant fix I can perform without paying out of every orifice I have?
