Question: Replace v6 2.5 ltr engine with a 4 cylinder?
Is it possible to replace a dead v6 2.5 ltr engine in a 1999 mercury cougar with a 4 cylinder? The engine now has broke the crankshaft and spun the main bearing. We just had the transmission, drive shaft, alternator, air cond compressor and more replace in the last year. I would like to take away the temptation for hot doging and put in a 4 cylinder motor. Will this work with the current computer and transmission?
