I don't have an answer for you, but my 1997 QX4 does the same thing! I have had 3 mechanics look at it and no one can figure out what it is. I haven't been able to use the car since March and the diagnostic computers keep saying it's the distributor (but 3 distributors later, they haven't managed to stop the problem). What have you replaces so far on yours?
