Question: My engine fan runs at full power constantly even when engine is cold

Hi,

I already checked both the coolant and air sensors and they are good.

I reset the computer and it temporarily fixed the problem until I started to use the AC. Then, even when I turned off the AC(and all other climate control by pressing the off button on the dash)the fan still runs.

The engine needs a 60,000 mile tune up(new spark plugs,etc)...is it possible that this is causing the fan problem?

I don't have the computer to check the codes but I did test both the fan relays and they are good.

I am leaning towards it being the accumulator pressure switch. Do I need to vent the system to replace this switch or is it connected to one of those special Schrader fittings?

When I start the car it takes a few seconds before the drivers side electric fan comes on followed by both on high.

I think it is being caused by some bad sensor and the PCM is going to a default safe mode?

ok, I just disconnected the accumulator pressure switch plug and turned on the car and the fans still came on. Does that rule out it being this switch?

I am not sure though and any input is much appreciated.

Thanks!
