Question: Is oil change needed prior to transmission work?

Hi. I am having some warranty work done on my 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer's transmission. I was told that all of the fluids will be drained. Does that include my oil? I am in need of an oil change and wanted to know if its something I should have done prior.
