How do you open the little door in front of the gas tank to put gas in the car? It is a 1990 190E Mercedes. There is no manual with the car. Thank you.

on the 88 300se you just push the right side of the door and it flips open

Unless the central vacuum locking system is broken. When you lock the car a small vacuum driven pin engages the fuel door, locking it closed...turn the car off and unlock the car. You can get to the pin from the trunk if it is jammed or stuck
