Question: How do I reset the 4Hi button?

My purse hit the 4Hi button and now it won't disengage to go back into 2wd mode. Should I be idling when I hit the button, and do I hold it for a long time? I can't get it to go back.

You just need to hit the button while driving-The light will blink several times, then show 2Hi.Just do the same to change back when you want 4Hi.(Don't feel bad,I had to dig out the owners manual) Incidentally,it recommends using 4Hi at intervals, as the front drivetrain won't get proper lubrication otherwise.I don't follow a set schedule, but just hit 4Hi for 10-20 miles every week or so.
