Question: Help Silverado knocking

My 2000 Silverado 2500 with a 6.0 auto has a knocking sound when first started up when cold It has great oil pressure and don't use any old between changes the knock goes away when motor warms up seems to be getting worse almost sounds like a diesel in the morning the truck run great other than that any help I would be thankful for

Got a place for you to start. I had/have the same truck and same noise. It has been a long time ago but I found that the sound is actually coming from the exhaust system. It is not the engine. Numerous people have told me about it and the fix is expensive and not worth it.
