Question: 03 Altima 2.5L cranks but won’t start unless I press the gas

I’ve had a few issues since purchasing this car from a local auto auction. A little over 186k miles. I keep my oil changed regularly. I’ve noticed it loses coolant and I have to refill every few days or so (reservoir only). I’ve replace my radiator and cap and checked the hoses. AC is cold and heat is hot as long as it has sufficient coolant. That’s problem one but not so much of a concern.

Problem two: I’ve had intermittent issues of the car cranking but not starting. Mostly, it’s after driving around 30+ miles or so and parking and turning it off. A lot of times it has to sit a while before it will start. The fuel pump is engaging and I do have gas in the car. As of now, it has sat a couple of days because I haven’t had a chance to get to it. I tried to start her up and had the same no start issue. No check engine/service engine light illuminated. I tried to press the gas while turning it over and after a little hesitation it started up. I let it idle for a bit and turned it off. The temperature is always consistent on the cluster. No stuttering or shifting issues. She runs smooth. I had also noticed, however, a while back when I filled my car up there was an audible “gurgling” or “bubbling” like sound coming from the gas tank. I had a moment where the gas pump would shut off prior to filling as if my tank was full and that over time went away. I figured it may be helpful to know. I’ve replaced my VC and gasket as well as plugs and coils due to a few tubes being flooded at the time. There’s a chance that this issue may have returned so I’m going to go check that out as well. Any help is welcomed and appreciated!! Thanks

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
