Question: what is a camshaft misfire code mean?

my truck missffires and i have replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor. after it was still running the same we pulled the distributor and the gear was wiped out and still after fixing that it still runs the same.

Possibly the camshaft sensor is defective. Many GMs have it in the distributor itself, so if it was damaged, the cam sensor could have an issue as well. If you replaced it with the distributor, it may need to be learned to the engine. You would need a scantool to perform the relearn procedure.
