Question: Reoccurring but intermittent issues: transmission, electrical, vehicle failure...
Looking for information on reoccurring issues with my 2015 Dodge Journey. It has 22,500 miles and for the last year and a half or so, it frequently has issues with delayed shifts, not shifting at all, and at times when I try and accelerate from a stop the RPMs will rev up to 6,000 but the vehicle will not accelerate - which I think is defined as a "slip"? The vehicle has also died on me 3 times at highway speeds causing total failure and power loss to all systems – i.e. power steering, hazard lights, brake assist – and we are forced to coast across traffic lanes and roll to a stop. It has many computer system resets or relearns at the dealership - camshaft, crankshaft, and oil control valve have all been replaced but so far none of this has fixed the problems. The problems do seem to occur most often when the ambient temperatures are high (100+) or when the vehicle is cold. Since the issues are intermittent the service center is never able to recreate them, so there’s a reset/relearn and it’s returned to me, shortly after which it starts happening again…
