Hi,

We are about to launch a feature where you can ask these sorts of questions to certified auto experts for free.

For now, I would recommend justanswer.com. Note that you will have to pay to get an answer there

Heating problems seem to occur more so on these cars. Landies cooling systems are pressurized (like most these days), and it's important to clear off any culprit/source of the problem. You have to hit all of the areas of concern - thermo would be a good one (cheap and easy to replace), the viscous coupling (talking about the radiator flywheel?) would be another (as long as you have slim hands), the other would be replacing your expansion tank and cap - keeping the system pressurized is key. The radiator may need to be replaced/re-worked. Special note to all of the hoses/seals integrity. The other area would be is to check you engine for leaks (oil/rad fluid mixture - inspect inside your valve cover), steam (from engine bay and exhaust) - this would indicate a head gasket situation (get an opinion form your local Rover guy to verify). This is not a cheap fix and time consuming on your own.
